Dream come true and new fundraiser collection

Posted by Christine Keenan on

I am terrible at writting blogs for that matter remembering to come back and write one. I do have a reason behind my absence. A dream that remained dormant for over 20 years has come true. Back in March this year I signed a lease for a bricks and mortar store, a place for Trinity Rose & Friends. In this space my creations are for sale along side other amazing creators and we have a creative space too where skills can be shared via workshops. You can find more info about the store and any creative activities at

www.trinityroseandfriends.com.au

and

www.facebook.com/trinityroseandfriends.

We also have craft & chat where you can pop in, bring what project you are currently work on, whether that be crochet, scrapbooking, sewing, anything crafty. Learn a new skill from others, share your crafting knowledge with others, make new friends. The fee for this is $2 for the coffee jar and/or a donation of non-perishable food items which are given to Tony's Community Kitchen. While we are on the fundraising and donation trail. I have a new collection called Fundraising Collection, this is where the proceeds go to a charity/fundraiser.

For the remainder of September all the proceeds from all the items in the Fundraising Collection will be donated to Cancer Council Walk for Women's Cancer. I am currently participating in the walk and have pledged to walk 18kms to honour 18 Queensland women who die from a breast or gynaecological cancer every week.  To purchase please add you items to the cart and I will transfer the funds of each item sold to the fundraiser OR you can donate directly to the cause, here vvv  https://www.walkforwomen.org.au/fundraisers/christinekeenan

repurposed fabric zip pouches

Posted by Christine Keenan on

padded zip pouch  padded zip pouch

Being a self-confessed fabricholic, I dislike throwing out scraps of fabric. I usually save them for a quilt or placemats, patchwork, applique and the like. But on this occassion I just had to do some thing different.

These sweet little zip pouches are made using repurposed fabric. The fabric is from the scrap stash of dream a little creations. If you are ever after a gorgeous little pinny, dream a little creations is your go too. I was able to access Jackie's scrap stash when I participated in the 12 Days of Giving, where I made goodies to be included in gift packages. Jackie was very generous with the scraps sent and I was able to complete goodies for her and still have plenty remaining.

These pouches are made from repurposed fabric (outside), fully lined and padded, with trims, lace or stitching accents. Small (approx 15cm wide by 14 tall) but still large enough to hold lip balms, medications, bandaids and all the other bits we women carry around in our bags. Good size for sanitary products too.

Let's talk orders

Posted by Christine Keenan on

There are 3 types of orders. What is the difference between them?

Order – An order is a copy of a product that I already create and can be found in my ready-mades. These can be created using fabric of my choosing or your choosing. For example you love the zip pouches but not the fabric range available in the ready-mades. Another zip pouch can be created in your requested fabric, providing that fabric is available.

Custom order – A custom order is an item I don’t have in ready-mades and it’s created from your dream and/or specifications. For example I create ironing board covers to fit your board, this is not a line I have in ready-mades as there is a multitude of board sizes. Why go with a custom order? With custom orders I attempt to bring your dream to life, this may take several discussions and often a prototype is created and any alterations made before a final product is ready. After all you are paying for a custom order, the item should be as close to perfect as possible and you should be happy with your custom order.

Wholesale orders – These orders are for those who want to stock certain lines but either don’t have the time or skill to create or simply want promo lines to give to their customers. I currently create the following in wholesale with minimum order of 6-10 depending on the item– oil wallets, large coin purses (same size as oil wallet), oil clutch, lanyard, key fob and fabric gift bags. If order is for promotional use I can embroider your logo or business name. At this stage I am able to digitise simple logos for embroidery from clean high resolution graphics.

All orders are discussed and quoted for your approval. When working out a quote I workout the requirements and checkout which of my suppliers is able to supply the required fabrics and haberdashery at the most economical cost. Which means I can pass on any savings to you. All orders require a deposit prior to commencing.

Would you like to discuss an order, custom order or wholesale order for yourself? Head on over to the contact me link and fill out the form or alternatively message me at www.facebook.com/trinityrosecreations

Introductions from a self-confessed fabricholic

Posted by Christine Keenan on

Oooh where do I start with a big scary blog. I’ve only ever done a simple blog over 14 years ago. It is probably still floating around out in the atmosphere somewhere, who knows. They do say once its on the internet its there for good.

I know the best place to start really is to introduce myself….

I am Christine Keenan, wife and mother to a teen, and an aging fur baby. I enjoy all kinds of craft and sewing. I am a self-confessed fabricholic and cannot go past good quality prints that just seem to yell at me. Yes, fabric does talk to me, not how you think! I will look at a piece and instantly know what it needs to be made into other piece tell me several possibilities and some pieces I get just because I can. I have fabric that I love and just cannot bear to cut into as I want the project to be the perfect one for that print.

I am the face and hands behind Trinity Rose Creations. I create a range of handmades – pot mitts, coin pouches, brush wraps, essential oil storage, quilts, baby/toddler wear, I could go on and on……. I can also fill your gift needs with custom orders. These are created using any print you like (providing I can locate it) or can pop a gift set together from my current range. And if you are in Toowoomba not only can I create custom orders for you, I can also alterations, repairs, hemming, upcycling garments and other items.

Why do I do what I do? I love creating, particularly like working on custom orders and bringing a customer’s dream/idea to life. I have been sewing since I was a kid, I am now 45 and learnt from my Mum who was a seamstress. It seemed only natural to turn a life skill into a business. And yes, I do have fabric I bought for my business that I cannot bear to cut into, not as much as my personal stash but I still have some.

Any how that it for today.
Cheers
Christine 😊

Ps. Check out my EOFY Sale, which is happening until 30th June, it is a great way to buy handmades and find gifts.
